The Sorrento Musical takes its cue from the “Tarantella”, a typical dance of the southern regions with origins in some undefined bygone period. Colli di S.Pietro (or Colli di Teresinella) is a name you probably won’t find on your map and so it’s worth specifying that it indicates the pass of the Amalfi Drive between the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast.
This itinerary can easily become a loop by adding the descent from Santa Maria del Castello to the Amalfi Drive above Positano and then taking the SITA bus from there back to Colli di S.Pietro.

Site of magnificent villas, extending between a tufa coastline on the sea and the hills of the sorrentine peninsula, Sant’ Agnello has been divided, since 1865, between Sorrento and Piano di Sorrento. The city owes its name to the Patron Saint that is venerated in the homonym church and that reveals the solid agricultural traditions of the area. The international reputation of Sant’ Agnello also owes a lot to the English writer Marion Francis Crawford who spent a long time here.

Sorrento is trying to be wireless. The wi-fi network of the small town, covers most of its central area and some of the most interesting districts. The project of the historical provider, Meginet, has organized the setting up of 120 wi-fi hot spots and in the next 6 months, more antennas will be hooked up to allow a wireless internet connection and to give complete network cover of the area.

The exhibition “Inlaid woodworks: Sorrento-Nice “ will take place in Sorrento at the Museum Tarsialignea, from 16th June to 29th October.
On display, are inlaids form 1800s that were made in Sorrento and in the French city, of which both have a secular tradition in the craft of inlaid. The same exhibition will be held at the Musee Massena in Nice next year.
